Betty Morgan Obituary

Morgan (Hudnell), Betty Lou (93), 10/04/1926 - 09/16/2020 of Jackson, went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday September 16, 2020. Betty is survived by her three children Saundra Kay (Gary) Rutledge of Cement City, Michael Wayne (Terri) Morgan of Ironwood, Patricia Ann (Paul) Putra of Jackson. She leaves behind her three cherished grandchildren, Michelle Marie Rutledge-Walker (Dave), Kimberly Marie Putra (Fiance Andrew Wilson), and Joseph Paul Putra, along with two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Sydney Walker. Betty was preceded in death by many loved family members, friends, and husband Dexter Dean in 1998.

Betty was born in Canton, Ohio and moved to Jackson in 1952 to open Morgan Water Conditioning with her husband. They served their customers well in the Jackson area, with great attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Mom and Dad were active in the community with the Jackson Lions Host Club, where Betty served as the Lioness President.  They were members of the Wayne Street Church of God for many years before moving to Cement City and attending the Somerset United Methodist Church.  Most recently she attended Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church, where she was welcomed in and loved by the Light & Life community group.  Betty’s last two and a half years were spent at Arbor North Assisted Living where she enjoyed making friends, attending all of the social gatherings, and if the bus was going somewhere, Betty was on it! The families hearts are full of appreciation and thanks to the Ganton family, Arbor North Staff, Henry Ford Allegiance staff, and Hospice for the expert care, and love they gave Betty during her time there.

Betty gave her heart to Jesus at an early age, always trusting Him, and knowing where she was going when her time on earth was done. Betty will be greatly missed, but we rest in the comfort of knowing she is safely home in her Father’s house.  John 14:1-3  “Do not let our hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

There will be a Celebration of Betty’s life at Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church on September 18th, 2020 at 12pm, with visitation beginning at 11am (door #5 outside). Pastor Earl Habecker, and Dr Darold Hill officiating.  Contributions in memory of Betty can be made to Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church, PO Box 399, Spring Arbor MI, 49283 or Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Dr, Jackson MI 49202
