Barbara Williams

of Jackson, Michigan

passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living, where she has resided for the past several years.  The daughter of Roy and Nellie Smith, she was born on April 2 of 1931 in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Barbara is survived by her son, Gary (Elizabeth) Williams; their son, Charles (Jon) Williams; her grandson, Josh; her grandson, Nick; and Nick’s five children.  She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Brenda Baxter; and her dear friend, Don.

Barbara graduated from Jackson High School.  She married Bob at age 19.  Barb worked as a seamstress for many years.  Though self-taught, Barbara had a loyal clientele, for whom she altered clothing and even crafted wedding dresses.  Even after she retired, she enjoyed sewing and knitting, and she made many hand-knitted gifts over the years.

By prior arrangement, cremation has taken place.  A meal in celebration of her life will be held at Gene Davis & Sons Catering, 3575 Francis St., Jackson, MI on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 12:00 noon.  Family will be present beginning at 11:30 to receive guests.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Barbara’s name.  Please express your condolences to the family at www.watson-funeral-chapels.com.
