Barbara G. Snyder

Snyder, Barbara G. Age 79 of Jackson passed away on December 2, 2019 at HFA Hospice Home in Jackson, MI.  She was born on July 8, 1940 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Anthony and Elsie Gehring.  She is survived by her 3 daughters, Maura Gough, Susan Fahsel, and Amy (Scott) Bungart; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey, Kylie, Emily & Adam;  8 grand-furbabies Tyson, Roxy, Hercules, North, Star, Luc, Jerry & Blu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; & many special friends (you know who you are).  All who knew her, loved her!  She was a bright light in any room and her kindness was contagious!

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kris Dee Snyder; her parents, Ohma and Papa Gehring; her siblings, Sonja, Harold, Helen, and Pushie.  Barbara graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1958, and from X-Ray Academy in 1961.  She retired after 40 years of service as an X-Ray technician.  She belonged to the Red Hat Society - “Classie Lassies” of Erie, Pennsylvania, Magnabilities Team and Thirsty Thursdays of Jackson, MI.  Barbara loved sharing Magnabilities Jewelry, casino trips, traveling, her ipad (specifically Facebook!), cross stitching, Yahtzee, bingo, most importantly, friends & family! 

Please join us for a Catholic Mass, with Father Mark O’Hern officiating to celebrate her life at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Church, 816 W. 26th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16508.  All are welcome to join us for Interment at 10 AM on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Graceland Cemetery at 261 Cemetery Lane, New Castle, Pennsylvania 16105. 

In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that charitable donations be made to Sacred Heart Church at Sacredhearterie.org, Catholic Charities, or your local Hospice.  Flowers are not able to be received at the church building.

There will be a Memorial Mass at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church, 1111 Carlton Boulevard, in Jackson, MI on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 1 PM.   Please message goughmaura@yahoo.com for further details..
