Barbara Miller Obituary

Barbara Sue Miller, Age 84, made her journey home to heaven on December 4, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Barbara  was lovingly surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Barbara was born on May 6, 1941 in Munith, Michigan. She was the daughter of Leonard F. Coleman and Edith Bradley Coleman.  Barbara attended Vandercook Lake School.  At a high school game in Vandercook, she met Homer Jack Miller and as their love story goes her never had eyes for any one else after that.  They married in 1958 in Jackson, Michigan and began their life together.  Their love story built an amazing family that included 5 children, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

Barbara’s career was right at their family farm.  Beside Jack, as he built the farm up, she worked just as hard raising their children and being a homemaker.  Often times feeding her family as well as the men helping Jack, and even taking meals to the field.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting her precious vases and rocks, enjoying watching her deer and sandhill cranes on their property, capturing many family moments in pictures, attending and supporting her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids in their lives and activities.  Barbara attended and enjoyed her years spent at Sandstone Congregational Church where she made friends and built her faith.

Barbara is survived by her children: Gary and Tammy Miller, Marie and Bruce Pace, and Greg and Dawn Miller.  Her grandchildren: Adam (Mandy) Pace, Sheldon (Destiny) Miller, Joshua (Amy) Miller, Audrey (Ed) Thayer, Tyler Miller, Jacob (Cassandra) Pace, Brandon (Elle) Miller, and Jessica (Bearin) Miller.

She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Bentley, Kinsley, Sawyer, Harmony, Braylee, Calvin, Hadlee, Emmett, Canaan, Ava, Carter, Xavier, McCoy, Creed and one on the way.  She is survived by one sibling, Rodney Coleman, her brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.  Barbara also leaves behind her dear friends and daily lunch companions, Barbara, Linda and Florence as well as Frannie and Bufford , Sandy, Karlene, and Helen.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Homer “Jack” Miller, Her beloved sons, Wayne and Wesley Miller, her parents, her mother and father-in-law, brothers and sisters, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
