Arlene Colburn Obituary

Arlene Faye (Lee) Colburn, Age 88, went home to be with her Lord whom she loved, on April 19, 2026.

Arlene was born on September 3, 1937 in Michigan Center, Michigan to Maxwell Hilton Lee and Clarice Ellen (Howald) Lee. 

She was a graduate of Michigan Center High School, class of 1955 and went on to work as a secretary for Modern Machine and Tool company for several years.  She married Russell Colburn, Sr. in 1959, and together, they enjoyed married life until his passing in 2016. 

Arlene will be remembered by her dedication in life to caring for her home and family, serving as a Sunday school teacher for more than 60 years.  A talented seamstress, she shared her gifts generously, and her deep faith was reflected in her many years of involvement with the Gideons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one son, Clark, and her husband Russell James Colburn, Sr.

Arlene is survived by her three children, Russell (Sherri) Colburn, Jr., Amy (Steve) Allarding, and Julie (Scott) Thornburg; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Ganson Street Baptist Church – 637 West Ganson Street, Jackson, Michigan with Pastor Allen Grover officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00am until the time of service beginning at 12:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Ganson Street Baptist Church 637 West Ganson Street, Jackson, Michigan or Gideons International, Jackson South Camp – PO Box 1512, Jackson, Michigan 49204.
