Andy Bailey

Andy Bailey of Allen MI passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the age of 92. Andy was born in Royalton KY to William and Mintie. He is preceded in death by his siblings Raleigh Bailey, Arthur Bailey, Ethel Hale, Elsie Prater, Cassy Thomas, and Mandy Collins.  At the age of 15, Andy moved to MI and worked at the Regent Café as a cook and later worked at Yardman. He married Mary Sparks and had four children, Teddy, Pat, Sandy, and Randy, preceded in death by Teddy, at birth, and Randy (and his wife Pat). Andy raised Pat and Sandy as a single dad, devoting himself to their care. Later in life, he married Rosemary Rice Tasker celebrating 53 years this June with the love of his life who preceded him in death on September 23, 2021. Through their marriage, Andy was blessed with four more daughters, Patty Maples, Joyce Davis, Janet Cuellar, Marcia Specht, and a son, Steven Tasker, who preceded him in death. Together, they had 34 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Andy and Rosemary were proud owners of Andy’s Antiques in Allen MI where people traveled from many miles to buy his perfectly cleaned and polished antiques. They loved traveling and doing antique shows together in many states. Andy had a deep love for family and a faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Quincy MI and of the Allen Historical Society. He will never be forgotten for all his service in the community, nor by his friends and family who loved him deeply.

A celebration of life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Rd., Jackson, MI on Saturday, October 23, 2021 with viewing at 10:00-11:30 a.m. and funeral at 11:30; Pastor Frank Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Cemetery in Parma.
