Allan Kenneth Lake of Spring Arbor, MI, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2022, while comfortably resting at his home in Spring Arbor, MI. He was the son of Kenneth Paul Lake and Etta Mae Lake, of Port Huron, MI. Allan was born on August 24, 1942, in Port Huron, MI. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Lois, and their four children Scott (Rachel), Lisa (Brian), Heather (David), and Heidi (Steven), and their 14 grandchildren Nathan, Emma, Benjamin, Lydia, Meghan, Evan, Kyle, Jonathan, Chloe, Evalee, Grant, John, Caleb and Esther, his brother Hugh, brother Paul (Gail), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Allan was preceded in death by his parents.
Allan graduated from Port Huron High School in 1960, from Bethel College in 1964 with Bachelor of Arts degree and from Michigan State University in 1971 with a Master’s degree in Education Administration. Allan worked his entire 36-year career as teacher in the Walled Lake Consolidated School System in Oakland County, MI, after retiring in 2000, and working summers at Haggerty Lumber and in home construction. Allan was an avid naturalist, wood carver, Sunday school teacher, lifetime learner and recent golfer.
According to his request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at The Arbor Church, 120 E Main St, Spring Arbor, MI 49283, on September 30, 2022 at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Jack French officiating. Visitation also at The Arbor Church from 1:00-3:00 PM on September 30, 2022. In lieu of flowers, check contributions may be made to one of Allan’s favorite places that he introduced to family and friends, the Polk County Florida Circle B Bar Reserve.
