Aletta LaRose (DeMond) Loud. 1929 - 2024 Aletta LaRose Loud, 95, of Spring Arbor died peacefully November 10, 2024 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living. She lived a long, full life and was always a hard worker. She had a beautiful smile and a quick wit which she used to her advantage all her life. Aletta was born to LaVerne and Jenny Nellie (May) DeMond March 17,1929 in Jackson, Michigan. She so enjoyed celebrating her birthday every year on St. Patrick’s Day. She graduated from Jackson High School and in 1952 married Willard F. Loud. They had three children - Mary (Stan) Neff, Jenny (Chris Pond) Donner, and Barry (Danielle England) Loud. For years Aletta worked in hospitality services, most notably at the Hotel Hayes Drum Room, Jackson Town Club, Jackson Country Club, and Arbor Hills Golf Club. When her daughters were young, she was very active in the Girl Scouts. She also belonged to the Spring Arbor Extension Club and was a proud life member of VFW Post #5674 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an accomplished gardener growing beautiful roses and vegetables. She loved to dance, especially to a good polka, play cards, and put puzzles together. She was an avid bowler and golfer and an excellent cook who was renowned for her homemade pies. Aletta is survived by her three children; grandchildren - Barbara Neff (Dave) Elliott, William (Rachel) Neff, Amanda Donner, and Elizabeth Donner (Eric) Finlaw; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Francis and Lloyd (infant) DeMond and in-laws Dorothy and Philip Spry, Kenneth and Pauline Loud, and Eleanor and Gerald Trowbridge. A special thank you to Spring Arbor Assisted Living for their loving and compassionate care over the past 16 years. No funeral services are planned and interment of ashes at Spring Arbor Cemetery will take place at a future date.
