94 of Jackson, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Virginia was the daughter of William A. and Susan Marie (Potter) Spencer, born May 28, 1925 in Jackson, MI. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Glen Ernest in 2006; her parents; son-in-law; brother; sister; two brothers-in-law. She is survived by three children, Linda Taylor, Barbara (Jimmy) Thomas and Glen E. Emrick II; 11 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Stoner; four nieces and three nephews. Virginia was a Jackson High School graduate. She was very active in her First Presbyterian Church, where she was in charge of production, director, designer and narrator of the “Women of the Bible” play that she took on the road all over the country spending God’s word to those that would come and watch and listen. She loved this job very much. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing and traveling. Virginia was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. Funeral Services will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM, Dr. James D. Hegedus officiating, Interment will be held at Draper Cemetery following the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Choir Fund, 743 W. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI 49201.
Visitation on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00 until the time of service.
