Of Jackson, MI passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the age of 79. Tom was the son of Harold and Laurene Rench, born February 19, 1940 in Battle Creek, MI. He is survived by three children, Kimberley (John) Sheets, Thomas H. Rench, and Kathleen Belt; 10 grandchildren, Nicole (Nancy) Sheets, Cortland (Sara) Belt, Katie (William) Zegarlowicz, Kendra (Nick) Zieman, Kristen (Jua’Qan) Sheets, Skye Rench, J J Sheets, Chelsea Rench, Austin Rench and Sandy Koss; six great-grandchildren, Trey, Creed and Knox Zieman, Ty Zegarlowicz, and Mason and Maddie Belt; mother-in-law, Carolyn Brandt; sister-in-law, Janice Haas; close friend, Rich Kinch; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Luan; and his parents. He was a graduate of Jackson High School. He retired in 1991 from Commonwealth Associates after many years of service as an engineer. Tom loved spending his time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Tom and Luan loved traveling together, especially to Alaska to visit their son and grandchildren. Tom loved the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler or golf cart with his dogs through the woods; these things always brought him joy and peace. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and medical staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. Also, to the Henry Ford Allegiance Health nurses and medical staff on 7th floor North. A special thank you to Gale Easton, P.A. at Henry Ford Allegiance North Street. According to Tom’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Spring Arbor Troop 144 Scout Office on Emerson Road, Spring Arbor on June 15, 2019 from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
