SGT Luke Duane Roberts

Our dearly loved Luke passed away Friday December 27 2019 in Tacoma, WA.  He was born June 10 1992 to Larry Roberts and Joyce (Carter) Roberts.  He married his beloved wife Alexandra (Wisselman) on June 29 2018.  She survives along with their fur babies Kenobi and Acheilus.  Also survived by parents Larry (Lynn) Roberts and Joyce (Ron) Roberts- Truman, grandparent Jim (Sandy) Roberts, father in law Miguel Wisselman, mother in law Dalila Wisselman, siblings Lynelle and Lance Roberts, Heather (Jeff) Munro, Shelly and Courtney Stanley, Brad Truman, Christina (Mike) Lowe, and Karen and Jenny Wisselman, cousins Cody, Kayla and Carey Ann McCullough and numerous much loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by grandparents Duane and Wilma Carter and Nancy Roberts, uncle Bruce Roberts and aunt Lori Roberts.  He served his country in the U.S. Army as an infantryman.  He was awarded the soldiers medal for bravely responding to a neighbor's house fire.  He had a passion for taking care of his soldiers.  He loved nature and hiking especially with Kenobi.  Duane never met a stranger, he was spontaneous and loved to get people annoyed with him.  As a child he was quite the escape artist.  He had the talent of embarrassing his wife with unconditional love, an irreplaceable love.  He was a one of a kind soul, his heart selfless and unequivocally protective towards his loved ones.  He will always live on in our smiles, in our laughter, in our thoughts and in our hearts, for he will always continue to live in us and in peace.  Visitation will be January 11 2020 at Watson Funeral Chapel 2590 Spring Arbor Rd Jackson, MI from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.  Funeral will be held at Concord United Methodist Church 119 S. Main St Concord, MI January 12, 2020 at 2pm; Rev Melany Chalker and Pastor Bart Hall officiating.  Internment at Maple Grove Cemetery Concord, MI.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
