Of Jackson, Michigan passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the age of 83. Robert was born December 4, 1935 in Fayetteville, West Virginia. Robert married Joan (Pierce), April 16, 1955 and recently celebrated their 64th anniversary. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lena (Nugen) Withrow; father, Kenneth Hill Withrow; son, Mark William Withrow; daughter, Keitha Ann Wilkinson; and brothers, Jim, and Paul “Doug” Withrow; and brother in-law, Jerry Holstein. Robert is survived by his children, Craig (Lisa), Kent (Rhonda), and Scot (Deborah); 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, William (Kathy) Withrow; two sisters, Carol Holstein and Susan (Danny) Kingston; sisters-in-law, Diane Withrow and Doris Withrow; brother-in-law, Gerald (Dianne) Pierce. Robert graduated from Fayetteville High School. The family moved to Jackson in 1953. He went to work at Consumers Power at seventeen years old and retired as a General Meter Operation Superintendent after thirty-seven years of service. Robert served on the board at CP Federal Credit Union for sixteen years and was Vice President of Marketing at CP Federal Credit Union for several years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for thirty two years. Robert served on the board and various other aspects of the church and its services. He also worked with North Jackson Lions Club, Northwest Little League Baseball, and Northwest Wrestling Programs. A celebration of his life will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 11:30am; Pastor Bryce Gernand and Pastor Dr. Phil Stout officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or David’s Promise a ministry of First Church of the Nazarene, 3905 Clinton Rd., Jackson, MI 49201.
The family will receive friends at the First Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:30am.
