Rita Gertrude Killewald

Age 96, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Countryside Grand Living Center.  She was born on November 15, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to Leo and Agnes Staskowski. Rita is survived by her children Laura (Paul) Brancheau and Tom (Debbie) Killewald; five grandchildren, Jennie (Scott) Frey, Rebecca (Michael) Griffin, Chris (Amie) Brancheau, Stephanie (Andrew) Dobbins, and Steve (Carolyn) Killewald; great-grandchildren, Emily, Jason, Olivia, Isabella, Owen, Cooper, Molly and Cora; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; and her siblings, Eleanor Tomecek, Ray Staskowski, and Leona Ryan. She retired after 30 years as Office Manager of Family Service of Detroit.  Rita enjoyed sewing, crafts, bowling and traveling. There will be the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00am at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church 1111 Carlton Boulevard, Jackson with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. A private family interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Foundation.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 10:00am until the time of Mass.
