Aged 77 passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019 in Bradenton, Florida. Patricia (Pat) was born the eldest of four daughters on December 14, 1941 to Richard and Marjorie Frey, who predeceased her. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph Gorney; four children, Angela (Dean) Johnson, Andrew (Aimee) Gorney, Bradley Gorney, and Amanda (Timothy) Arnett; six grandchildren, Elaine, Chase, Samantha, Olivia, Haylea and Kendra; three sisters, Georgia (Jim) Rodetis, Gloria Staszak, and Dawn Davis. She was preceded in death by daughter Marcia, granddaughter Jennifer Averett, and brother-in-law Larry Staszak. Pat was a 1960 graduate of Michigan Center High School where she met the love of her life during her junior year of high school. Pat was one of the beginning members of the Jackson Chapter of Right to Life, becoming President of the organization, and continued in the fight to save the unborn throughout her life. Being an avid collector of dolls, Pat found the perfect job at Knibloe Gift Corner, where she worked for several years. Although she will be missed by all, Joe admits “we’ve had a good run”. Pat is at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson where a prayer service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 10:15 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 am with Fr. Tim MacDonald officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 22, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to Birthline of Jackson, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
