92, of Jackson, Mich., passed away Sunday, July 22, from complications resulting from a fall earlier on July 10. She was the daughter of Frank W. and Myrtle E. (Pfeiffer) Harris, and was born in Flint, Michigan on November 28, 1925. She was predeceased by her husband Eldon. She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen (Jim) Sexton, son Kirk (Susan Brinkman) Eschenburg, plus grandchildren Mackenzie and Maggie Sexton, Erica and Evan Eschenburg. In 1943 she graduated from Adrian High School. She kept in contact and maintained friendships with classmates throughout her life. After high school, Pat attended St. Joseph Hospital Nursing School where she studied to become a Registered Nurse. After passing her exams, she became a member of the Nursing Corps. Patricia worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital in Detroit, and was a traveling nurse for the Chrsyler Corp. She and Eldon married in 1951. Patricia was an avid golf player for many years and was a member of several golf groups. She and her husband traveled frequently especially during their early retirement years. A life-long knitter, Pat not only knit items for family, but she also knit hats, booties, and blankets for use by NICU units, and prayer shawls. She was an active member of their church-including women’s Bible study group, choir, kitchen crew, and Sunday school. Pat was also an avid community volunteer: she led Junior and Cadette Girl Scout troops for many years and was a trainer for other Girl Scout Leaders, was a PTA officer and coordinator, and also worked the polls. As her family was growing up, they spent winter weekends skiing in northern Michigan and camping during the summer months. She also enjoyed reading and cooking. She had many friends with whom she played cards and enjoyed events at Vista Grande Villa. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a short commendation of her to God after the 10 A.M. service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1505 W.
