Mildred Ruth (Pankow) Sheeler, age 99 of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at her home at Victorian Villa, where she has lived for the past 4 ½ years. Midge was born on April 5, 1920 in Michigan City, Indiana to Tincey and Henry Pankow. She is survived by her daughter Patty and her husband Marty (her favorite!) Baumgartner, her grandchildren Holly (Steve) Laird, Adam (Sheila) Baumgartner, her great-grandchildren Jack, Lily, Max, and Sofia, her nephew Tim Kocher, and special friends Nancy Bones, and Carolyn and Ron Scott. Midge was preceded in death by her husband Jack Sheeler, her parents, and her sisters Eunice Kocher and Inez Pankow, and her nephew Ken Kocher. Midge’s family and friends were the joy of her life. She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church. Everyone who knew her would say she was one of the sweetest people they knew! According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2301 Ridgeway, Jackson, Michigan on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Karen Kelley officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Midge’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her “second family”, the staff at Victorian Villa and the Care Line Hospice nurses, aides, and staff for their loving care and respect for her and our family.
