Marilyn J. Colbert

Of Jackson passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the age of 88. Marilyn was the daughter of Harold John and Clara Edythe (Altman) Freitag, born April 28, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana. Surviving are two daughters; Janice (Mark) Poupard, and Karyn (Bruce) Kampfer; four grandchildren, Rob (Betsy) and Greg (Lia) Poupard and Kristin Kampfer and Steven (Tara) Kampfer; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Marisa and Oliver; sister, Carol Freitag. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Colbert, and her parents. Marilyn attended Indiana University. She co-owned Colbert Welding Materials Company for over 47 years. Marilyn was a member of Arbor Hills Country Club and Bears Paw Country in Naples, FL. She dearly loved being with her family, especially being a front row fan of all her grandchildren’s sporting activities, and golfing. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at Woodland Cemetery on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 am, Chaplain Lisa Holdridge officiating. Inurnment following the service. The family will receive friends in the chapel at Woodland Cemetery from 10:30 am until the time of service.
