Kenneth Strickler Obituary

Kenneth James Strickler of Jackson, MI passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the age of 83. He was the son of Fred and Katherine (Haskett) Strickler, born April 24, 1936 in Piggott, Arkansas. Ken is survived by his two children, Sharon (Mike) Midena and Steven (Connie) Strickler; three grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Strickler, David (Amber) Midena, and Maria Midena; eight great-grandchildren, Kaden, Noah, Rohnan, Isaac, Jordan, Remy, and Elijah Strickler and Jaxon Midena; and special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Strickler; and his parents.

Ken was a graduate of Piggot High School and attended the University of Arkansas. Following his schooling he served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. After his service he worked as a Industrial Sales Representative for many years. Ken then owned and operated Vandy’s “The Store” in Vandercook Lake for over 20 years. He was an avid University of Arkansas Razorback fan. Ken enjoyed playing tennis and racketball. He loved history, politics, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 10:00am with Michael D. Mason officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Thome Pace, 2282 Springport Road, Jackson, MI 49202 or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home, 2150 Kingsbrooke Dr., Jackson, MI 49202.
