Kathleen "Kathie" Sue Smith

Of Concord, MI, passed away peacefully at her home under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. Kathie was the daughter of Clare Alvin and Patsy (Darling) Railer, born August 8, 1947 in Albion, MI. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ron; her parents, and sister Sandra Kildea.  She is survived by two children, daughter, Kami (Alex) Webster, and their children Chris, Chandler, and Caitee; son, Dan (Jenny) Smith, and their children Alissa and Bryan; sister, Carol Rouster; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kathie was a graduate of Concord High School. She retired from Concord School District, and also owned and operated the Pulaski Mall for over 46 years with Ron. Kathie’s passion was being a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished times spent with family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports where she created many new friendships on the sidelines. Kathie also enjoyed traveling, shopping, golfing, lunch dates with her special friends, and cheering on the Detroit Tigers. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at Concord United Methodist Church, 113 S. Main Street, Concord, on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 1:00 PM, Pastor Michael Ortell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Big 9 Sportsman Club Youth Program, 12000 Pulaski Road, Hanover, MI 49241 or the Pulaski Fire Department 12359 Folks Road, Hanover, MI 49241.

The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
