Julian (Bud) Smith, age 82 from Hanover, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2019 surrounded by his family under the loving care of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. Bud was the son of Maurine (Bell) and Julian Smith and was born on March 31, 1937 in Jackson, Michigan. He is survived by four sons, Glenn (Terri) of Ishpeming, James (Anna) of Romulus, Marc (Lisa) of Horton, and Daniel (Trisha) of Jackson. Bud is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy of 44 years, siblings Lawrence, Evelyn, Janet, and William. He was a graduate of Jackson High School in 1955, earned a Welding certification from Jackson Community College and also served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Eaton Corporation (Formerly Aeroquip) after 44 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as living on Farwell Lake and sharing his love for outdoor sports with his grandkids. A celebration of his life will be held at Village Hope Church, located at 123 W. Porter St., Jackson on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11 am with Reverend James Toth and Pastor John D. Larkin of Skiff Lake Bible Church presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 8 from 5 to 8 pm at Village Hope Church, 123 W. Porter St., Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9 also at Village Hope Church. Family will be receiving friends and guests at 10 am prior to the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Bud can be made to the Skiff Lake Bible Church Missions Fund.
