Joseph Paul Zonts

Of Jackson, MI, passed away peacefully at his home under the loving care of his family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the age of 59. Joe was the son of Albert and Freida (Callahan) Zonts, born July 8, 1959 in Jackson, MI. Joe is survived by his loving wife Shelley Zonts; their children, Matthew Zonts and fiancée Tyoni Curtis, Christopher Zonts and fiancée Rosanna Court, Meagan (Justin) Hoffmann, Marissa (Cory) Martinez, and Malorie Zonts; eight grand-children, Cody, Kayla, Emily, Audrey, Jaedyn, Amelia, Sophia, and Abigial; siblings, Albert “Sonny” (Li) Zonts, Tom (Karen) Zonts, John (Doreen) Zonts, Mark (Sheila) Schill-Zonts, and Joyce (Kevin) Haire; Carrie Barr (Life partner of Steve Zonts); aunt and uncles, Rose Marie, Betty, Darrell, Albert Jr., and Kay; his four legged companion Sugar. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Michael Zonts, and big brother, Steve Zonts. Joe was a graduate of Jackson High School. He was a Purchasing Manager for over 30 years at Production Saw. Joe was a member of American Legion Post 29 for several years. He loved spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, camping, bowling with two perfect 300 games back to back. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:30 AM, Father Jim Shaver officiating. Inurnment in Lincoln-Pomeroy Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice, One Jackson Square, 4th Floor, Jackson, MI 49201 or American Cancer Society P.O. The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Thursday, January 3, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
