Ileen Florence Decker

Ileen Florence (Hawkins) Decker, 95 of Spring Arbor, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living Center. Ileen was the daughter of Albert and Lefa (Haight) Hawkins born July 21, 1924 at Pinconning, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Roland Decker in 1994; step-son Ronald Decker; her parents; two sisters, Elsie Henderson and Lois Steel; four brothers, Floyd, Albert, Willis and Eldon Hawkins. She is survived by brother, David Hawkins; daughter-in-law, Joyce Decker; sister-in-law, June Hawkins Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ileen was a graduate of Sterling High School, Spring Arbor College and Greenville College with her Bachelor of Arts degree, and Eastern Michigan University with her Masters degree in Education. Ileen taught in Beecher District Flint, MI and Tampa Spanish Mission in Florida. She was a member of Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church where she enjoyed church choir and singing with family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church in the chapel on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 3:00pm, Reverends Donald Hawkins and Charles Husted officiating, interment Spring Arbor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church Missions Fund, 120 E. Main Street, Spring Arbor, Michigan 49283. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Ileen’s caregivers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm.
