Went to her heavenly home February 6, 2019. Hazel was born in Melber, Kentucky to Wm Henry and Mary Alberta (Buckingham) Rust on November 02, 1929. She was the youngest of 4 children. After attending Melber Schools, Hazel moved to Paducah to attend Riverside Hospital School of Nursing. When her family moved from Kentucky to Michigan for work opportunities she soon followed. Although her family moved back shortly afterward, Hazel chose to stay in Michigan. She met her husband there and they raised their family in Henrietta Township in Jackson County, MI. She was active in PTA, a Brownie Leader, and participated in a local Quilting Club at Pleasant Lake. She and her husband were also in a golf league and a bowling league. As her family grew up and married, she worked at several jobs, including the Pleasant Lake Post Office and Fay Veterinary Clinic, to keep busy. She and her husband were active in church, a camping club, and travelled frequently. She was also active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Later in life Hazel volunteered at Foote Hospital, RVSP and Passages. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Davis, her parents and siblings, several nieces and nephews and her beloved grandson, Jonathan Ruthig. Survived by daughters, Mary (Michael) Dorer of Grass Lake, Jan (Dwayne) Ruthig of Caledonia, Karla Glessner of Jackson and granddaughters, Jill (Sean) McFarling of Bloomington, MN and Jennifer (Reno) Walcher of Rives Jct, along with great-grandsons, Jayden, Jaykob and Eegan.
