George Gabourie Obituary

Of Jackson, Michigan passed away at his home under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Caring Hospice on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the age of 66. George was the son of Donald Glenn and Elizabeth Margaret (Grosstepham) Gabourie, born February 22, 1952 in Grand Rapids, MI. George is survived by his loving daughter Trussa Gabourie and fiancé Corey Stanton; two grandchildren, Angel and Stephanie; special friends, Dale, Gus, Kris, and Ron. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Tony; sister, Teresa. George was a Forrest High School graduate. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War receiving two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He retired from the City of Jackson as a machinist after 20+ years of service. George was a member of the National Rifle Association. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking, and fishing. A celebration of his life will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 4:00 PM, Reverend Richard T. Eberle officiating. According to his wish cremation will follow. Memorial contributions for George may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM
