George Kenneth Francis, of Parma, Michigan passed away at his home with his loving wife and family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the age of 47. George was the son of W.T. and Claudia (Sparks) Francis born June 27, 1972 in Hillsdale, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Trini; two daughters, Kendra (Gerald) Mick and Chynna Francis; three grandchildren, Logan, Jackson and Ethan; three children he helped raise, Cameron Redd, Cheyenne (Mike) Sykora and Charles Jackson; his mother, Claudia Francis; two sisters, Tina Kobel and Paula Francis; two half-brothers; two half-sisters; many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his father; son, Jackson Lee Francis; mother-in-law, Mary Jackson; grandparents, Paul and Katherine Sparks; uncle, Wayne Sparks; two half-sisters; two half-brothers.
He was a 1990 graduate of Addison High School where he medaled in Track and Field, shot put and discus, lettered in basketball and football. After high school he attended Jackson Community College. He worked for Melling Tool Company for 24 years as a machinist/supervisor. George enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his children and grandchildren; love spoiling Trini. He loved his Harley Davidson, hunting, gun enthusiast, his dogs, bowling, golfing, working on vehicles and motorcycles, and going to car and gun shows. George is a dearly loved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 3:30pm, Michael D. Mason officiating. According to George’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Memorial contributions in memory of George may be made to the family. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30pm until the time of service.
