Gene Sackrider

Of Parma, MI, passed on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Arbor Manor Rehabilitation and Care Center at the age of 75. Gene was the son of Frederic C. and Esther (Folks) Sackrider, born April 8, 1943 in Concord, MI. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Suzanne (Davis) Sackrider; five children, Celina Sackrider, Robert Sackrider, Fred Sackrider, Roger (Misty) Sackrider, and Kristina (Jeremy) Peake; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Jackson and Linda (Marcelino) Gonzales; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Gene was preceded in death by his parents. He was a 1961 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked the family farm for many years. He also worked at Camshaft Machine Company for 37 years, retiring in 2006. Gene loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, sprint car racing, and traveling. Gene was loved by many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Parma on Wednesday 24, 2018 at 11:00 am, Reverend Kevin Tippin officiating, interment following in Chapel Cemetery. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Arbor Manor Rehabilitation and Care Center and Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their loving care.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
