Freida James

85, of Jackson, MI went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 21, 2018. She was the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Luther) Callahan, born March 10, 1933 in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Freida was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold James and Albert Zonts; two sons, Michael & Steve Zonts; sister, Irene Sykola; brother, Patrick Callahan; and her parents. She is survived by six children, Albert “Sonny” (Li) Zonts, Tom (Karen) Zonts, Joe (Shelley) Zonts, John (Doreen) Zonts, Mark (Sheila) Schill-Zonts, and Joyce (Kevin) Haire; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; five siblings, Rose Marie, Betty, Darrell, Albert Jr., and Kay; Carrie Barr (Life partner of Steve Zonts). Freida was a graduate of Cresson High School. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family. She also loved spending time with her friends at her retirement community. Freida enjoyed telling jokes, playing bingo, and cards. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be at St. John the Evangelist Church on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:00pm. Father James Shaver officiating. Inurnment at St. John Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities Senior Transportation, 3425 Francis Street, Jackson, MI 49203.

 The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00pm until the time of service.
