Eugene Paul Stasik, Jr.

59, of Jackson, MI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 26, 2018. He was the son of Eugene Paul and Catherine Stasik, born February 7, 1959 in Bay City, MI. Gene spent his childhood joyously in Essexville, MI, where he attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Garber High School. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan. Gene loved all sports, especially the Cleveland Indians baseball and all of the U of M sports, especially football and basketball. He was employed by the Ann Arbor News. Gene lived his last years with his mother, Katie. He leaves behind to cherish the memory of a thoughtful person, his mother; his sisters, Sandy (Tom George), and Susan (Terry Mierzwa); several nieces, a nephew, and his Scottish Terrier named Mollie. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Gene may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Cascade Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Dr., Jackson, MI 49202.
