Donald Davis Obituary

95, of Jackson Michigan passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Countryside Care Center.  Don was the son of Dwight A. Davis and Jean Davis.  He was born September 25th, 1922 in Ontario Canada.  He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis of 73 years and his three children, Daniel Davis, Nancy (Davis) Schwartz, and Stephen Davis, five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and brother Keith Davis.  He was preceded in death by his parents. Don graduated from Jackson High School, Jackson Junior College, and the University of Michigan, and was a professional engineer.  He was an officer in the Navy and served on a minesweeper.  He was Vice President of Teer Wickwire Company and retired from Consumers Energy.  He was a member of First Congregational Church and Arbor Hills Country Club for many years.  After retiring he especially enjoyed mentoring children in both math and reading, even when on vacation in Florida.  A celebration of Don’s life will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Friday, August 3, 2018.  Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm.  Reverend Kerry Taylor-Snyder will officiate.  Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 1425 North Elm Road in Jackson.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church at 120 North Jackson Street in Jackson Michigan.
