Don Bruce

92 of Vandercook Lake, MI went home to be with the Lord, at his home on Sunday, October 21, 2018 under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Don was the son of Robert and Nora (Graves) Bruce, born March 6, 1926 in Bandana, Kentucky. He is survived by two children, Marilynn (Thomas) Cavender and Carol Bruce; six grandchildren, Nicole Cavender, Bruce (Trenesa) Cavender, Becky Cavender, Adam (Stephanie) Cavender, Ryan (Ashley) Cavender, and Kayla (Christopher) Sandoval; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters; numerous very dear nieces and nephews. Don was a graduate of Bandana High School. He retired from Kelsey-Hayes in 1986 as an inspector. Don was a member of Vandercook Lake Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-papa, and good friend to all who knew him. He loved spending time with his friends and family, fishing and camping trips to Tubs Lake in Michigan and traveling, wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at Vandercook Lake Baptist Church, 703 E. McDevitt, Jackson, MI 49203 on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am; Pastor Kyle Vegter officiating; interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Don may be made to Vandercook Lake Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Wednesday. October 24, and at the church on Saturday, Oct 27, from 10:00 am until the time of service.
