Of Parma, MI went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the age of 96. She was the daughter of Clawd and Gertrude (Denzer) Weiman, born September 6, 1923 in Gladwin, MI. Charlotte is survived by six children, Pamela Zelmanski; Richard (Cyndi) Patchett, Storm (Alan) Lairson, Mark (Patricia) Patchett, Sharron (Mike) VanCampen, and Douglas (Melissa) Patchett; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Betty) Weiman and Robert Weiman; sister-in-law, Beulah Weiman, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Patchett; her parents; daughter-in-law, Sharon Patchett; son-in-law, Ron Zelmanski; three brothers, Wesley Weiman, Harold (Evelyn) Weiman, and Elery Weiman; and sister, Gladys (Lee) Lamoreax.
Charlotte worked for the Jackson City Police Department where she became the first women detective for the department. She would later retired from the police department after many years of service. Charlotte loved to work in her greenhouse to garden and tend to her many flowers, especially her geraniums. She was an active member in the Howe Wesleyan Church in Parma and the Jackson Free Methodist Church. Charlotte was a strong and loving mother for her six children. She loved to spend time with her children and all of her grandchildren. A celebration of Charlotte’s life will take place at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Parma, MI on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00am with her son Pastor Mark Patchett officiating. Interment will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Charlotte may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Parma on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service.
