Charles Jordan Stewart, Jr.

83 passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018. Charles (C.J.) is survived by his wife of 35 years Karlene. He is also survived by his children Dan (Kay) Cook, Dave (Mershell) Cook, Steven (Kirk) Cook, Jan Wood, Angie (Kerry) Mohney, Andy (Lori) Cook and Rob (Janelle) Stewart, several nieces and nephews, 22 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren, as well as special friends Karen Dean and Bonnie Leach.  The family will also like to thank Roberta Hill, R.N. for her help during C.J.’s last days.  C.J. is survived by sisters Laura May, Gladys and Brother Jimmy and Edwin.  C.J. was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Stewart, Son Charles (Rick) Stewart, Father Charles Stewart Sr., Mother Della Mae Stewart and Brother Lowell Stewart. C.J. proudly served his country, for six years in the U.S. Navy.  Graduated from Tennessee Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering.  C.J. was employed by Gilbert Commonwealth for 37 years, traveling the world as a Construction Manager.  He was a member of the Masonic Temple, AIC and American Legion.  C.J. enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting and gardening, as well as spending time with his family. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held on September 1, 2018 at Sandstone Congregational Church, family visitation will begin at Noon with a service at 1:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sandstone Congregational Church, 250 S.
