Cathy Lynn (Matthews) Trowbridge

62, of Jackson, MI passed away at home, surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 14, 2018 after a 17 month battle with ALS. She was lovingly cared for by her husband, sons, and Great Lakes Hospice. She was the daughter of Colvin and Kristine Matthews, born October 4, 1955 in Coldwater, MI. Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Robert, of 31 years; four children, Adam R. Trowbridge, Kurt M. Trowbridge, Jonathan (Heather) R. Trowbridge, and Lisa M. Trowbridge; seven grandchildren; her parents; brother, Kevin E. Matthews; and numerous cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kimberly Matthews. Cathy was a graduate of Hanover Horton High School. She worked as a Paraprofessional at Townsend Elementary School where she retired after 19 years of service. Cathy was the co-captain for the Vandercook Lake Schools Relay for Life Team and enjoyed camping, genealogy, crafts, and reading. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:30am at South Jackson Community Church, 1024 W. Kimmel Rd., Jackson, MI 49201. Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Inurnment at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS of Michigan, 24359 Northwestern Hwy., Suite 100, Southfield, MI  48075 or charity of choice.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:30am.
