Barbara Tucker

Of Jackson, MI went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of Fred and Marion (Davis) Wetzel, born March 21, 1925 in Jackson, MI. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Donald Wetzel. She is survived by two sons, David (Karen) Tucker of Jackson, MI and Donald (Leslie) Tucker of Landrum, S.C.; one daughter, Theresa Ross of Haslett, MI; six grandchildren, Jacob (Lisa) Tucker, Jessica (Dan Omo) Tucker, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Ross, Anthony (Melissa) Ross, Megan (James) Gimbel, and Matthew (Sara) Tucker.  An accomplished dancer, Barbara entertained at many school functions, recitals, and at Fort Custer and Percy Jones Hospital during WWII. She was a long time member of Tuesday Musicale Chorus, and has served on the Boards of Jackson Women’s City Club, Mercy and Foote (Henry Ford Allegiance Health) Hospital Auxiliary, Tuesday Musicale, Women’s Club of Jackson, and past President of Amaranth Club and an active member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. The family would like to give a heartfelt thankyou to the caring staff at Arbor Woods Assisted Living and Southern Care Hospice. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00am with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Tuesday Musicale, Music Award Fund c/o 4745 Birch Haven Road, Jackson, Michigan 49201 or Queen’s School, 811 S. Wisner St., Jackson, MI 49203.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:30am until the time of mass at 11:00am.
