Barbara A. Shinn

Barbara (Wilson) Shinn of Jackson, MI passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the age of 96. She was the daughter of Emmons and Ruth (Marquedant) Wilson, born August 9, 1923 in Leslie, MI. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Lee C. Shinn; son, Dr. Bradley Shinn; infant daughter, Patricia Jean Shinn; her parents; siblings, Thelma (Pete) Ketchum and Bernard (Melva) Wilson. She is survived by her son, Brian (Patricia) Shinn of Allen Park, MI; grandson, Harry Lee Shinn of Toledo, OH; sister, Dorothea of Leslie, MI; daughter-in-law, Pamela Shinn of Findley, OH; and special friend, Cathryn Ewers of Jonesville, MI. Barbara was a graduate of Leslie High School. Following high school, she became a Cosmetologist and worked for over 40 years. She was a member of the Jackson Moose Lodge #156 and the Eastern Star Mason Chapter. Barbara loved to travel, read, sew and crochet.  According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:00pm with Reverend Gary Cook officiating. A private inurnment at Roseland Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Detroit Cristo Rey High School. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm.
