Of Jackson MI passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018. Barbara was born on November 26, 1930 at Mercy Hospital in Jackson MI to James Leonard Crawford I and Meta Emma Auernhammer Crawford. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Philip Murray Fowler of 60 years, her son, James Phillip Fowler on December 14th, 1958 and her loyal brother-in-law, Jim Koebbe. She is survived by her children; Marcus (Misty), Brian (Carol), Philip, and John (Angie). Her grandchildren, Marcus Fowler II, Tiffany Stewart (Aaron), Brooke Fowler, and Boyer Fowler; great-grandchildren, Lindsay Fowler, Ryan Fowler, Sophia Boyer and Nicholas Boyer and one great-great-grandchild, Carter Workman; siblings, Nan Koebbe, James (Maryann) Crawford, Kathy (Bernard) Levy and many loving nieces and nephews that were just like her own children. Barbara graduated from Jackson High School in 1948. She married the love of her life, Phil, in 1949 and they raised 4 boys together. In 1981 Barbara began working in Jackson High School’s cafeteria, where she tended the cash register and baked many cookies. Barbara had many special causes that were dear to her heart. Among the most important to her were Trinity Lutheran School, Trinity Lutheran Church and the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland Montana that she supported for many years. Barbara and Phil also loved spending time at their second home up at Higgins Lake where they made so many special memories with their boys and grandchildren that will live on forever. Per Barbara’s wishes a private memorial service will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran School 4900 McCain Road, Jackson, MI 49201 in honor of Barbara Lou Fowler.
